TEI’s DirecDrive™ fan drive system is redefining cooling tower fan drive efficiency for the 21st century!  Improvements in system reliability, efficiency and reduced noise are now possible with the TEI DirecDrive™ fan drive system.  Utilizing permanent magnet technology, the TEI DirecDrive™ fan drive system replaces the less efficient, multi-component drive trains (speed reducer, drive shaft and NEMA frame fan motor) with a single component, premium efficient,  TEAO  fan motor that couples directly with the fan and operates through a companion variable speed drive.  The TEI DirecDrive™ fan drive system is manufactured by ABB using a Baldor CT Direct Drive motor and ABB Model ACS880 variable speed drive.
